Afrocuban bootcamp is an 8-hour workshop of choreography learning based on Afro-Cuban dance techniques such as Yoruba, Rumba, Arara and Congo.
During the classes, in addition to learning dance techniques and developing dance awareness, you will be able to learn about and understand the interaction between Afro-Cuban music and dance and enrich your knowledge of the origins of Afro-Cuban culture and its impact on what we are currently dancing on the salsa dance floor. The intensity of the workshop guarantees great progress – this bootcamp will develop you as a dancer and you will be able to use the learned steps in other dance techniques.
The prepared choreography will be presented on the main stage during one of the evening galas of El Sol Warsaw Salsa Festival 2017.
The course will be led by Alfredo Garcia – outstanding teacher and choreographer, soloist of, among others, Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba. Last year’s edition of Alfredo’s bootcamp enjoyed enormous popularity and gathered participants from all over the world.
Individual approach to each participant, deep knowledge of the technique, broad knowledge and insight in Afro-Cuban culture and performing on one of the biggest salsa scenes in Europe – you won’t be able to find it anywhere else.
