I started to dance in November 2010 when I was 17 years old. My Peruvian friend did latin fiesta once a month and I started to learn from people who did animations. So I learnt basics from salsa, bachata, merengue and reggaeton. Till the year 2013 I was learning dancing just in the club. In year 2013 I visited my first festival abroad. First I fell in love with reggaeton, I started to go to courses of reggaeton for one year, but salsa was always there. In year 2014 I joined dance group of oriental dances – tribal dance. After two months of training I started to perform with them in the Czech Republic. But after one year I stopped dancing tribal dance, it was boring. In the same year 2014 me and one my friend founded dance group of Brazilian Carneval Samba. I learnt basic but the most difficult step ,,samba no pé” from Youtube, the rest was easy. From year 2016 I started to visit at least 3 festivals abroad a year and 2 festivals in the Czech Republic a year. It was year when I started to go to begginers course of cuban salsa in pair in Czech Republic. Till that moment I danced salsa only alone. In same year I started to learn also kizomba and afro house. After begginers course of cuban casino I stopped to go to other course because I learnt how to follow, I didn’t need other classes of rueda de casino. Every dance helped me to know how to move my body. In year 2016 I started to visit also afrocuban, rumba and timba classes at festivals. Year 2018 was for me year when I started to love classes of musicality. Till now musicality is my biggest passion. Year 2019 is for me year when I start to learn mambo on 2, pachanga, boogaloo, afro mambo – where afro is for me part where I feel sure and mambo is for me new. I will never stop learning. In the end salsa in general is my biggest passion with all her instruments and rhythms. Cuban, Salsa on 1 or Mambo on 2? It doesn’t matter, just let the music lead you.
I choose song Agua que va caer (Water which will fall) from Carlos Santana. It is known that music by Carlos Santana is a fusion of many musical styles, also my dance will be a fusion. In this song are instruments for Rumba, also text of song says ,,Cuando veo al cielo, que se está nublando” (When I see sky, it is cloudy) ,,Agua que va caer, te juro que va mojar” (Water which will fall, I assure you that it will make wet), this is part when I can dance Chango and Oya as the Gods of lightening, thunder, storm and wind. Also I can dance Chango because my name is Barbora and Chango’s day is 4th of December which is day of Saint Barbara. This song has also nice part with strong drums, perfect for musicality. The last part is part where I will dance accoring to electronic guitare.
