Simona Attanasio with Italian origin was born in Switzerland in 1986. Her first encounter with dance was at the age of 16 during a salsa class. She danced for one year and stopped because of studies and job. She restarted again at the age of 23 with salsa with her dance-partner Lukas Eichmann and from that moment she couldn’t feel happiness bigger. She evolved her salsa style in different festivals all over the world. In 2012 She began to take classes in ballet with the teachers Slawek Bendrat, Madeleine Morgenegg, Irene Andreetto, Lucas Baleño, Adeline Souletie. She developed her dance skills also in contemporary, modern dance and jazz with the teachers Alfredo Garcia, Natalia Lopez, Slawek Bendrat, Lisa Lareida, Debora Moser and other teachers. She evolved also her knowledge in different Caribbean dances like afro-cuban with the teachers Alfredo Garcia, Liudmila Rodriguez, Leonardo Moya, Angelo Giofré and many others in Cuba.
In 2012 she started to compete in the categories salsa, bachata, showgroup-dance, salsa shines in Switzerland and abroud. One of the most important competition, was the one in Cali, Colombia at the World Games representing Switzerland with her dance partner Lukas Eichmann. They get the 9. place at the World Games. During this time they took classes at the renowned dance school Swing Latino (El Mulato) in Cali.
Simona had from beginning this passion to create choreographies, giving her best to others, share what she learned and consequently in 2014 she created her first showgroup I DIAMANTI and performed with them in different salsa festivals, events and parties in Europa. Gradually she created other showgroups I ZAFIRI, I RUBINI at the dance school SALSALUCA in Berne.
From 2014 – 2018 Simona had the chance to study and dance with one of the most beautiful dancer “Natalia Lopez from Mexico” (salsa, contemporary, jazz, technique) in the dance company “ESENCIA” a Swiss Dance Project and evolved her style and technique.
In 2016 she began to study in the dance school SOSA Academy in Milano with the teachers Fernando Sosa, Adrian Sevilla Cortés, Jessica Patella, Jessica Quiles, Tatiana Bonaguro during several weeks every year till today. She took open classes in ballet and contemporary at the school ORMARS Lab in Milano. She get the first place at the competition Salsanamà in 2017 (Salsa battle, freestyling and music interpretation) of Fernando Sosa in the category amateur.
In 2018 she started to dance and compete with her new dance partner David Leon. They take already classes of acrobatic and partner acrobatic with the teacher Leonardo Mayorga from Colombia in Berne.
